1000 vs 1200 h145 rear ends?
Guest_
hi all just wondering if a 1200 h145 rear end can go into a 1000 wagon?

do the spring hanngeres need rewelding and im guessing the 1200 rear end is slightly wider than the 1k one. is this correct?

Hey Mik,

I'm pretty sure you'll have to relocate the spring mounts/hangers. And the track is widened, I think 60mm... so 30mm each side.

You may have to do a bit of chop and welding with the brake line splitter as well as I think this is located on the drivers side of the 1000 (ass well as the main line from master cylinder). Or maybe the 1200 brake line splitter is on the same side?

thanks chris its a start.

looking to swap either the whole unit over but at least the center into the 1000 unit, maybe the drums and backing plates too. hoping at least those 2 items are interchangeable at a minimum

Diff center is interchangable, I have a 4.11 1k diff center in my 1200.

What are you trying to do anyway?

Ratio's?

The H150 can take a little more punch if you've got a bigger engine. Maybe put one of those in while you're at it, you'll need a spacer to make up the extra gap though.

Have you got a thou Mik!? Or is this wurzels?

wurzels, its noisey as hell and the rear disk set up is causing issues, drags big time and never quite feels right he says.

Arghh that sucks.

Just drop the H145 that you have into it. Shouldn't be an issue.

Although I'm not sure what's more time consuming, changing the entire diff or just the diff centre.

Wurzel should buy the blue 1000 wagon in Gympie, apparently it comes with one or two sausage dogs....

so rear proportioning valve or that little nipple thing that needs to be reomved from the master to stop it draging maybe. both good points.
