hi ive recently bought a 1000 4door sedan with a 3 speed column shift auto, its got the long tail lights and horrible red/maroon interior and a miles per hour only speedo, i need to know what year she is and id also like suggestions on how big to make the exhaust with the standard motor as i bent the standard exhaust taking it off the car. also planning motorcycle carbs at a later date but just on the standard motor as i cant drive anything that needs a mod plate(damn you p plates) and suggestions on wheels that will look aggressive on the little bugger once i have lowered her abit (not too much as im trying to avoid as much police attention as possible) colour scheme is either gonna be the same as my last one (green with gold racing stripes) which i liked alot or its going to be nissan artic white, any comments or suggestions on other colour schemes would be greatly appreciated (better with pics so i can see how it looks).

Thanks in Advance James

ill also just tack on the end that in regards to the exhaust that id like it to stay fairly quiet and a little deep, have been running the car in the back yard with no exhaust and love the sound its just way too loud, as my neighbours would probably agree

i had a 4dr with long tail lights and auto 3sd on collumn that was a 70 which also happen to b artic white i think they came out that colour
i'd say with standard engine go 1 1/2 in then if u do decide to go for a a12 or some thing if will still flow fine i would think 2 in would b too big for an a10
???

Go with the stock 1-1/4" exhaust

One indication of year is the build plate

Another is the indicator lights:

long tail lights are 69 to early 1970. 1.75" good size exhaust with single sport muffler, lukey sound nice. otherwise just get the damaged section fixed for using with a A10 in its original size,

If u go with the cherry red that was one of the original colors it would match the inside.
u intend using bike carbs on A10 ?

Go 1.5 inch at the most. Try & get a resonator between the exhaust manifold & the muffler, a nice flat oval one should work, plus a flow through muffler. I did this with an A15 Sunny, & it was quiet at idle, with a nice note at speed. You're going to find a big problem with off the line performance, the engine just won't pull the gearing. An old guy I know has a 69 2nd owner Auto sedan, he put a 1200 A12 engine in it back in the 70's & he still complains about the sluggish response. I would have rebuilt the A12 with an A14 crank,as discussed in another thread, purely to get the torque to pull 1st gear. Don't swap it to a manual, being an auto makes it bloody rare.
