So I just drove the 120Y to Sydney and back, a 500km round trip . She went really well. I reckon getting about 9ltrs to 110km. Much cheaper than the kingswood!!!

But I am 6ft2 or so. The stock seats are just not gonna cut the mustard.

So reading through the wiki it seems like any comfy seat from a smallish car will do the job.

Anyone ever had the same problem?

What seats did you choose?

My ass is so sore.

I refuse to do that again.

Cheers, Jon

you will need to find something that will possibly sit you lower so you dont hit the roof with your noggin.

ive tried ka ford laser seats, nice but sat you up higher, currently have subaru leone or possibly early liberty seats, thay are way comfy, and supportive too.

pulsar exa seats seem popular but it depends if you wat comfy or supportive, few seem do to both, and being tall(not wide like i was)seems to limit your chocies as most will sit your higher in the car.

are you also a bit of a fatty? (sorry couldn't think of a way to put it more subtly lol) coz if you're not and just want more leg and head room i'd recommend some sweet fixed back buckets. i've got sparco sprint V's in my ute and they're mounted as close to the floor as i could. i'm 6ft3 and my shoulders come up to the window sills. i'm also from canberra and have driven the ute to sydney 4 or 5 times and the only thing that hurts is my right shin cramping up from being so upright, coz in a ute you're never goin to have leg room unless you wanna hack at the cabin wall lol. they can be a bit hot in summer coz they hug you in and don't really let your body breather causing you to sweat a bit but i'm guessing vinyl isn't much better haha. they can also be a little bit awkward to get in and out of but you'll get used to it pretty quick.

lol @ wolki, very diplomatic man

I'm not fat but I'm a large lad so it would be a process of finding an appropriate sized bucket for my shoulder width.

I'm sort of looking for comfy seats more than support as its never gonna be a race car or anything and anything really will be both more supportive and more comfy than the stockers.

My mate is just about to wreck his subaru wags an old 1800 I think. Might have a squiz at his seats.

I wouldn't mind some luxury beamer or alpha seats or something but as unfamilia pointed out its really the height thing thats the problem so it will all depend how much higher they sit.

Cheers for the suggestions!!

My second son had a 120Y for a number of years & I had a spare 200B-SX sitting around doing nothing. The seats in these are a bit larger than the 120Y seats so the Father-in-law robbed the 200B & fitted the front seats to the 120Y.
He didn't have much by way of resources, so it couldn't have been too difficult a job, & the car was driven with them for several years.

I also have a 200B wagon that I have driven for about 10 years & I can vouch for the comfy-ness of these seats. The part that I like is that the wheel for adjusting the seat-back is located nearest the middle of the car, not next to the door pillar.
So much easier to adjust that way.

My brother had 240z/260z seats in his 1200 and they sat quite low, they were comfy and supportive. You can get full vinyl ones or vinyl with cloth inserts.

You could say that I am a bit on the 'Husky' side myself. I also have back dramas and I find it difficult to get comfy in most car seats, except N15SSS pulsar seats. Comfy as bro. Beached Az!!
