New to this forum and Datsuns and just started a new project I'm hoping someone can help with. I bought a project AH Sprite with a Nissan A12 and I'm trying to do a little engine work. Engine is stock as far as I know other than a header I am building. I want to add a single 40mm Weber DCOE and need to know where to start with jets and chokes / venturies. I've got two carbs to mix and match some parts but I'm sure I will be ordering others. Can some one get me close on initial jetting and choke sizes. I live in Montana and will be running from 5 - 8000 ft.

Thanks

KW

KW just so you don't think folks are ignoring you: while I can't help on the single sidedraught I will tell you that most folks here either use the Weber 32/36 DGEV type, twin Hitachi SU's (JDM Motor) or twin DCOE's.
Understanding that you have the carbs in hand (use what you have) it seems with out some additional work a single 40DCOE might be a bit much for near stock A12. I'd go 32/36 , your header and 2 inch exhaust.

Thanks for the info Tom. I switched to the DCOE because of a hood clearance problem. I have two 40 DCOE's and thought one would be plenty. I can order whatever but one of the carbs has 30mm chokes and the other 27mm. I bought a header that fit the engine but was not even close for the car. I ended up cutting it up and am starting from scratch with a bunch of bends and my Tig welder. I'll shoot for 2" out of the collector
