gday

i have an h145 rear axle in the morry minor sedan and i need to upgrade that to a h150, i have two options:
1 - put h150 centre into h145 housing and use a 2.5mm spacer
2 - modify my h150 assembly to fit the morris minor. The h145 has already been modified.

the only thing preventing me from putting the h150 into the h145 housing is im not sure how strong the axles or halfshafts are in the h145 setup. Will they take the power of a hotted up a15 reliably?

cheers,
Cameron

Yes, the axles are the same H145 or H150 (same part number). A 'hotted up' A15 probably will have less torque than a stock A15, so no worries.

oh mint!

i saw this auction on trademe, that guy's dyno sheet is pretty respectable for the mods that have been done, im looking forwards to having the same sorta grunt: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=257430676

nice flat torque curve, any idea what 180kmph in 3rd gear would be in RPM?

unless you weld up the side gears, you're more likley to blow diffs than snap axles. I have four spare axles here in Christchurch if you do manage to break any.

ive got a few spare here as well but thanks for the offer. I dont plan on breaking anything but i do want this car to be a 'set and forget' sort of thing.

If you're gonna be mean to the old girl, you're going to need a bigger differential than just an H145. They don't enjoy longevity when given death behind a worked engine.
