I'm surprised that nobody noticed the Smiths Cronometric tachometer. Notice that the hand moves in jerks as it is reporting the RPM reading every half second or so & not as a continuous indication.
The interior driving shots really stirred up my memories as the five speed got the adrenelin flowing again.
That's how I imggined I was driving when I was by myself, driving in a spirited manner in my old 1000 sedan [1200GX & 5 speed] That damn gearbox was so sweet with a takeoff gear to one side & four more closely spaced gears in a conventional H pattern, it just begged to be used as it was intended.
It's just so good to run the tach out near the red, then pop it up one & KNOW that you're still right there in the power band & haulin' arse all the way.
I still feel a tingle down my spine just remembering the good times that the 5 speed, a magnificent engine & a great little car brought me.
Pick up the action at about 2mins 55 seconds
