My advice is to offer to sell this to Aussies by offering to pull it apart
in 2 sections and send it via post.

Otherwise no one will afford the customs duty on something like this.

DDgonzal was kind enough to offer this alternative but I pulled out as I
didnt want a kind member to bust their nuts doing it to save some cash.

the price on the one that was sold previously for $1700 NZ including customs duty fee's worked out to be $1200 US dollars
The tranny price seemed fair but the fee's are outrageous.

Would those same duty fee's apply if things were shipped in from other countries, US, Japan, etc...?

What he said.. Aus customs don't charge any duty unless the "reported" i.e. invoice value + shipping adds up to over $1000 AUD. So make sure the invoice cost is lower than that
And make sure it is clean and empty of oil etc..
I've got one sitting in NZ waiting for me to organise shipping.
