Folks
Just after some opinions and options that I may have missed.

The Perth folks know that the cook (aka the cripple) needs a new car after deciding to drive her camry wagon into the side of 4wd of some description.

Linds wants another wagon, and not an SUV if she can avoid it.

Now as far as I can tell there are the following options
Normal/reasonablly priced
Holden Commodore
Holden adventura
Ford Falcon
Subaru Forrester/Outback

Overpriced
Volvo V70
Audi
BMW

So there is pretty only 3 options in Australia of wagons that arnt SUVs. Any opinions?

keep an eye out for the Adventra, they are unstoppable, and seem reasonable price, I'm a fan..
specially after the Holden drive day at Belvoir Homestead and the pines..
LX8 was the luxo v8. LX6 was naturally 6, now there's some new designations, and some povo packs..

for value for money, cheapish repairs and running costs, I am pretty happy with my VZ wagon on factory gas

Budget, not really sure. but I spose the max including a bar and spotlights would be around the 25k mark. (bar and lights budget is about $2500. yes they are farkin expensive. its criminal i know)
Want to try and keep it all below 20k if we can.

Toytoa dont make a new wagon. the 2001 model she had was the last of em. We could chase down a replacment one, but it is a good chance to upgrade, but it doesent have to be.

Its hard cause traditional wagons just dont exist. Holden and ford pretty much have the market.

Mal, I hate to admit it, but I am leaning towards a Vz/VY era dunnydore wagon too, on gas would be good.

And yes she is hell keen on a thou wagon mike. you know that. Dont tempt me when I have sheds, daisy and a hoist to get up first. You know that thou porn gets all sorts fo things up!

I like the adventuras, but after reading a few reviews, Im a bit turned off. apparently their AWD system is very average, and falls apart at the first sign of gravel. And they are juice guzzlers aparently. We alrady have one of those in the family (please dont take offence Pootrol, i do love you!) Most comments from owners seem that they love em, but its the fuel usage that the rickety awd that kills em.

They only sold them for two models as well. 2003-2006.
VY and VZ i think that makes it.

oh and on the syline wagon, it seems tha last of them was 2001, and they are import only. thats amking thingfs a little hard, but after looking at a few skylines, she does like a bit, and if we had the time, i could possily convince her that it would be a good idea, but alas, probally nt.

falcon on gas would be cheap and good, heaps of parts too. for $25k, you could get a 2007 model and place all the stuff you need on it and gas and the thou and possibly still have change ;)
