A12 engine electronic ignition?

hello, i am new to this page. i have a 1200 ute.

i was searching the web for an electronic ignition mod for my a12. i guess it does not come with one (correct me if im wrong). i got to this page.. do you think it will work? does this bring everything i need to convert? any comments?

Datsun 1200s were not fitted with factory electronic ignition until 1989.

Hey that's neat on that web page. It is considerably less expensive than the Pertronix setup.

It should work on your 1200, assuming you have a Hitachi distributor and not a Mitsubishi unit. It will say on the distributor housing.

Skip the coil, you can buy any 1980s Nissan electronic ignition coil. Or you can use the stock non-electronic coil with the stock ballast resistor.
