Too much mate... What most places do nowadays is u send them your box and they will send you a rebuilt unit in return. Can be anywhere from $600+ depending on which gbox. For a w58 you should be looking down the barrel of a $7-800 swap-over. To get them rebuilt your looking more than that... round a grand. I got priced $1200 for rebuilding the R30 gearbox of mine... but that is around where i live.

usually you can get away with just new bearings if its still changing gears fine, i rebearinged my r30 box for under $250. not the hardest thing to pull a box apart and put it back together, did the first one with my dad and the second one by myself. even then when its apart syncros are pretty easy to replace if you can get some new ones...dont know if you are supposed to do anything else when you replace syncros though

ask revhead, he works for hollinger and builds gearboxes for a living

Nice info! Thanks for that Pigdog... Where did u get your parts for the box? I think the synchros are going in 2nd gear and was curious to know where to get parts for them...

i got all my bearings from a local bearing supplier, i'd already pulled the box apart and written down all the bearing numbers though. but think he had a book that listed all the numbers for different things and what not
