Holy Crap. You are the Sinner Man, a thousand sins you committed there!!Haha.

Nice work, I see you don't have much interest cutting the heads across the shorter axis? I suppose an engine builder of your calibre would know all that already though.

Pics are a bit small but I can see two GX heads there. All in the name of research though.

OMG.

This one interests me alot, is it a high economy head for long rod short, stroke
engine of high rpm to impart lots of small high comp combustions to minimise
fuel usage along with reduced detonation at very high comp?
Ive read in the early 80s this was a concept of improving performance & fuel usage.
This is similar to the tiny but powerful engine concept of using lots of small
combustions to make the ultimate hp across a very broad range or rpm???
Is it for sale or available? who did the welding?? bloody awesome if its still
straight.

After six years of Uni, and into my third degree I wish I had become a mechanic, LOL.

If only Australia's immigration system would allow people in to do apprenticeships there would be so many people out there with a real option at what the first world has to offer, and think how many of the small pacific island nations would benefit from such a healthy range of skills/expertise, instead of overpriced degrees.

Anyway what I am getting at is who from my generation (gen-y) will take all Ernie's knowledge on, not saying your an old bloke or anything Ernie, but you wonder what will come of the future. Even Errol Smith has shutdown completely (so I've heard anyway).

Not sure who I'll take my engine to when I'm still tinkering with the A-series when I'm 50. Then again there'll be no fuel left....

I gotta know. On that first pic, did you machine out the port and insert an aluminum tube as a start at rebuilding a better, higher port?

If that's what it is, I would love to hear everything you learned from that experiment.

And that billet head is an awesome start. How did you plan to make waterjackets? I'd love to hear all about that too...

yes to question 1,major work and cost to get it sealed under pressure test.it flowed great better then any other head. 2. billet was going to drill holes right through and tap end to block off and crossdrill to suit gasket.cheers
