Hi I don't know if this subject have been looked into yet. I am new here and would like some opinions of those how have gone this root. I am running BP6ES plugs normal asperated, no problems. When my ute is fitted with a turbo what plugs would work the best for everyday us or racing, wormer plugs or colder and why?

i used ngk bp8es in my coupe, the guy that profiled my cam said that i must use that since the warmer plug gets too warm and keeps burning, which causes detonation, mine is n/a with high compression, so not sure if this is gonna count for a turbo setup

you need to run a colder plug due to the high compression ratio under boost, and also make the spark gap smaller because boost will blow it out, make sure u have a very good ignition set up aswell.cheers

I'm running a std cam and dont want to go over 0.8 bar boost. Is ngk serficient or do i have to cross over to bosch? What would be the primary factors be that determan the plugs or is it deverent for every enjin?

After running the 8s, inspect the plugs for proper combustion (tan color). If glazed white, you need to go colder. If black you need to got hotter. Once you find the right plug heat range, buy a double-platinum version so they will last a long time. Don't bother with regular platinum.

If you have a points distributor, consider upgrading now to Datsun electronic ignition. Otherwise keep the dwell set correct using a dwell meter every 3 months and replace the points & condensor every 12 months.

what pistons did u used on your setup?? im going to do an a14 turbo setup too

ddgonzal i understand your explanation, it makes sence to me, ill do that thanks. im planing on going with electronic distributer but not sertain what, in SA we don't have as big veriety as thatside.

mpower, i used the 1500 exa turbo pistons, low combustion and allmost perfect fit.
