Hi Guys

Just wanted to flush my cooling system and took the radiator hoses etc and wanted to recheck my thermostat also, Checked it but now it doesn't work so that is the problem , Can a NISSAN Genuine thermostat can be faulty within 1 or 2 days like this i am frustrated on this, i am gonna to call dealer and ask for replacement, since this country is bit warm 28-32 Celsius,do i need to go for 76.5 C or 82 C thermostat , what do you guys think about ?

Thanks
Regards
sumith

Yes,they can go bad right away. But be sure it goes in all the way without hitting the back of the casting. I measured a head, and that D21 thermostat may be at the limit of space. Tightening the bolts may bend it.

* 82C/180F thermostat is best for the engine

* 88C thermostat is used if you want the room heater to be hotter

* For maximum fuel economy with the stock engine, use the manufacturer specification, which for Japan B210 is 82C

Optional for "tropical use" is the 76.5C. I suspect this is to keep the room heater less hot. Or maybe there is another reason.

The radiator is more efficient at hotter temps.
