I have an opportunity to purchase a 1972 - model 1200 coupe - some rust - frame looks good - 37,000 miles - garage
kept - one owner.

Can anyone help with a reasonable price to pay?

Being the US, and with what appears to be a resurgance of interest in the 1200, it could be worth up to US$3000.

If it's just body rust, and the trims and everything plastic is good, then it would be a good buy. Engines can be rebuilt, rust can be removed, panels can be straightened,
it's the little bits that make a car worth the money.

In Australia the recommended price for a 1200 is AUS$1200..funny that. So it wouldn't be unreasonable to start bargaining at US$500-600.

It depends if you are ready to 'feel the datsun difference' or not.

Regards,
Chris
