Looking for some stock 12 inch tyres that have been used but still have good tread on them. They must be used/old because I intend to whitewall them and the paint adheres best to old rubber.

Mine are finished, cracked. The a12 will peel them right off if I give it too much.

Will buy rims as well if you want to get rid of the lot.

Otherwise, does anyone know if a tyre shop will sell second grade, used rubbers? Can't afford the time to wait for new ones to age, nor do I have the cash! So I'll play the recycling card and use someones used unwanted ones.

i think i got some here ill check for ya. a mate of mine just sold a 1200 sedan to some kid and just threw in a set of four white rims with hub caps and good tread. i went nuts at him cos i knew they would be worth alot to someone doing a resto.

Shmity that would be mighty helpful mate. I'm cruising round with three whitewalls at the moment not a good look.

surely you have a second hand tyre shop about. I know of three within about 10 minutes of each other in Perth, so they do exist.

and New 155R12s last time I bought some were $50 each. secondhand ones cant be for more than $25

Tell you the truth Reuben I've never noticed them.... but that's the sorta price range I'm talkin' bout! I'd like to know if anyone has tried buying used rubber from the big tyre shops round here.

I'll ring around as well but 12 inch isn't a size most shops seem to have as common stock.

dunno where this is in Adelaide, but its a good place to start. I would swap you a carton for my set of four that i have at home. They are about 4 years old with 95% tread. perfect for what you want, but the freight would kill you!

In the meantime I'll hold on to see if a Datsun member would have any. Would rather give my money to them.
