The hayai8 been round a while but this thing is less powerful, has more torque and
is a 4 with simple pushrods, less bits but more joy for old dogs who love simplicity.
price would b 1/4 of the hayai8 weight less than of an a10.
The old ford german v4 used in saabs also weighed under 100kg and was all iron so
this thing will be at least 30 or 40kg down. Absolute Art.

Id say the GDI part would remove the simplicity pretty quick. What do they displace, and how much power do they put out?

You need a lil hi tech somewhere. You will see this engine in all kinds of things in the future.
From Lotus 7, Buggies, Fiats and you name it. 1.650cc and 140hp stock but made for torque.
86mm bore by 70mm a12 like stroke but 44mm inlets and 36mm exhausts.

The H2 kit from Hartley (US H1V8 people) is interesting, I doubt you would get much change from $10-15k for a 1300CC A-series engine that revs to 10k (everyday).
For $8.5k plus donor engine you are looking pretty sharp..

All it needs is a couple Weber IDA's.

Or flat slides :)

It really is a modern version of the Ford cologne v4 used by saab to win
late 60s rallyes. No chain but gear driven cast iron 1.8 litres but as
heavy as an A12. So the flat slides can replace the webers in this pic
