Bob, your down in canberra. the people dow nthere are a tiny bit more leniant then here in new south. if it needs a blue slip, then they will check everything out to make sure it is
definitely roadworthy, but if it only needs a pink slip then they will check for wobbles in the suspension, oil leaks etc. and do a brake test.
by rights, if the struts bolt in, which they do, they shouldnt need an engineers certificate but some of the rego guys like to see one anyway, if its still got an A12 in it then you dont
need the booster to pass an engineers report. its only if you go up in engine size etc.
i dont know about the side pipe being legal though. you'll get away with everything else i reckon. but not the side pipe. i think it HAS to exit the rear of the car for emission reason and
noise and shit like that. just all technical shit.

anyways
cyas round

Hey there- at least someones ute has been finished...
The way it is with rego in NSW is that u will need an eng. cert for the brakes, and as long as the exhaust is at least about 350mm past the rear most door/ window it is ok - thats what
mt uterus has, and it looks and sounds good, when it runs, which isnt often.
As for the ute stopping on a dime, i cant say i have seen many dimes in australia, but i guess you could find out - just the way the exchange rate is, a US dime may cost your about
AU$300.
In ACT do you need a blue slip or something when your car is out of rego for so long? If so, u may need all the original air filter stuff, and pollution gear... depending on the year
model.

Hope this helps - excuse me while i push the Sunny into the dam...

Another one done - mine got finished today - and they let me get away with the WAAYYY too wide back tyres...

NSW has different regs as far as what's required, but if you're running a stock engine (A12-A15) I can't see any reason why the upgraded brakes and suspension should be an issue. Might find
that you'll need a bigger master cylinder to cope with the larger slave cylinders on the 200B struts. Sunny's had booster and larger cylinders, or try a Zed master cyl (i think 15/16
compared to 11/16 - much more stopping power).

In VIC it's based more on the car's ability to stop than whether or not it's as it came out from the factory - so long as it's a straight bolt in swap and no modifications are required to
make it fit.

I'm suprised you could fit 200B struts without hitting anything - your model must have different lower control arms than mine (although I'm not suprised as I think mine was a drum brake
front) My 1200 ute's running 120Y discs until I can get my skyline struts and 11.5 inch discs in (you thought your 10.5 inch 200B's were big).

I'd look at upgrading the master cylinder if you can afford it. I'm running the stock master on 120Y discs with a booster and I still think they're crap...

i have a 120y cylinder and booster here but not real keen on drilling the holes in the fire wall still havent got it to rego yet got held back by a lack of funds due to getting busted for
burn outs and no rego and no third party oh well boys will be boys the 200b struts were an easy swap changed the strut top with one off the ute and then bolted them in the utes have
bigger ball joints to the sedans and coups same size as 200b 180b and all those except the tie rod had to make a bush for that but that was just a matter of finding the right size copper
pipe and cutting it to size took me about 3 hours to do the whole conversion

Is there an U.S. equivalent of a 200b or 180b that I can get struts from? I still am confused by the difference in models
from around the world.
