looked in the tech wiki, downloads section, and googled... no luck with a wiring diagram

in the short term i just need to know what these two wires are, but also if someone can direct me to a manual i can download, or has one they can email me, that would be tops :)

these are the wires. i assume they're both powered, just want to confirm that's the case (can't find multimneter or test light, and it's also 9.15pm) and also suss out where they go, if/where they're fused,if they're ignition switched, etc.

one is light green, the other is black/yellow. the black/yellow wire is thicker gauge. both are on the loom running along the top of the driver's side chassis rail, althouygh as my car has been butchered a little that may not be where the wiring was originally :P

Hey mate:

- What year is your 120Y?

- What platform is it? (sedan, 2dr sedan, coupe, wagon)

- What engine did it originally come with?

- What gearbox did it originally come with?

In my Gregory's workshop manual, according to the schematic diagram labelled "Late model RHD 120Y models", the BY wire comes from the starter and runs to the neutral safety switch on the gearbox, then to the ignition switch, so would most likely only be powered when turning the key to the "start" position. The G wire appears in the horn, vacuum switching valve (component on emissions equipped engines?), kickdown switch and solenoid (auto trans), and dash circuits, so it would most likely be an "accessories" fed power wire.

Hi mate

Thanks for the reply. I hate wiring.. and on top of that I'm fixing someone else's so I'm learning more as I go.

Mine is a '78 built 4d so that's the diagram I'd need, but even the 'wrong' one would be a good start compared to none at all. Fair to say it originally came with an A12, afaik they all did (1.20 lt hence 120), as for box I'm not sure but it's got a manual in it at the moment so it wouldn't have a NSSw.
