adjusting the diff..

I have no time to check and gotta go to work soon!

Is it possible to adjust the pinon on my ute to move the diff /axel from left to right or vice versa??

one side the wheel is hanging out just a little more than the other side..

Nope, adjusting the pinion won't change that.

it is normal for one side to be 8mm out from the other.

Adjusting the pinion [bearings?] in the differential will not address a lateral displacement problem with the rear axle assembly.

I don't know why, perhaps it is a design feature, but lateral offset of the rear axle is common enough for me to wonder if it was designed that way.
