Hi Guys
Got a couple of crown wheel and pinion sets tht have worn through the hardening and are extremely noisey .Is it posssible to reharden the gears and if so where can i get it done ?

sorry bob they are toast , once you are through the heat treatment the geometry of the tooth is no longer correct and it will always be noisey , i have been told that the crown wheel and pinion out of a rear diff from a subaru 4wd is made by the same supplier as the datsun diffs and believe it or not fits into the dato carrier!

If you get stuck (with gear hardening) talk to Don at Hollinger Engineering maybe? he's a Datsun man too.
