hi, Looking for the next part of the puzzle.

I will need an auto Tranny plus wiring AND a Tunnel to replace the original. I know some have put in a stumpy manual box in without changing tunnels but i figure that an auto might be fatter? Has anyone done this b4 that can shed some light on whether this is a good idea?

Also I have all the power steering in my donour EXA if anyone wants it for free (you just have to put in the time to remove)
I will throw in the pump off the motor and the reservoir too

a mate of mine has a complete auto, convertor, wirining etc for a ca18, ill find out what he wants for it.

Update.

I took the CA18DE (out of the EXA donour) apart and discovered the reason(s) for the overheating.

Seems now I could do with another CA18 maybe with a spun bearing.

So, still after Tunnel and auto, just need to add another engine.

Also I just ordered a CA gasket set off ebay in the UK. This should save me about $250. - will update when it arrives.

ive got a spare CA head sitting in my garage, came off an exa CA18de. dont know its condition but i could have a better look at it if you want

Sure! That will work. (I took mine down to Tommo's last week for the verdict)

Got my auto box, ECU, shifter and converter.

Still need:
CA18DE head
CA18 Auto flexplate
AND Tunnel

Also got the VRS Gasket set from the UK eBay. Transaction went thru smoothly.
