wrx motor in a datsun 12oo ute

Hi everyone,

I have come across a wrx 2.0l turbo engine and was wondering if it would fit in datsun 1200 ute, if anyone has done this or knows if it could be done any help most appreciated.

i doubt it will fit in there between the strut towers..
surely a tape measure will sort out whether it will fit or not........

highly unlikley conversion with extensive mods and 4wd mode, a sr20 would be a much better 2L engine over wrx ones.

Ca or Sr conversion is very very $$$$$$ as im finding out :P
Thats with out taking into account the 4x4 side of it. Good luck tho

For a cheap car these datos can get super expensive....!

wouldnt it just be easyer to use a brumby ,they are common as and already have 4 wheel drive

there is a bloke on datnet doing a conversion into a 1600, its a tight squeeze even in that! if you did get it to fit you would probvably have to use a different box for rwd only.. tape measure is your friend!

ok thanks guys realy appreciated, think i might go cai8 just not sur on gearbox as ive seen a few and the gear stick sits a bit back.
