So this weekend is d day, i wanne sort my diff finaly. Big plans, have desided on traction bars, but STILL have some issues with that!!! I did check out wiki, wishbone locator and some other sites, I know what is gonna sort me out (traction) anyway.

The prob. is i dont wanne remove the fuel tank. All the examples i have seen on traction bars is with cars or the tank on the ute's have been removed.

I don't want to put them under the leave springs (to visible, skratshing on curbs....)
Anyone with this prob. Any experiance out there, any segestions???
Or am i only full of K..??

I'm not sure what the underside of a 1200 ute looks like. If someone has a picture, we might be able to make a better suggestion :)

I'm fitting caltracs to my 120Y but obviously it depends whets under your floor & where!!

well if you done want them under your leaves then the next best thing would be to put them ontop of the diff so they have the most leverage to stop tramp. but if you cant do that without removing the fuel tank then you will probably have to weld some mounts onto the bottom of the diff and run the bars at leaf height.

dont see why you couldnt have a single bar in the middle of the diff on top. there is plenty of room under the middle of the utes to run it and a single one should still do the job

IMO caltracs are the best bag-for-buck system & they're legal if they're rubber bushed and installed at a legal ride-height.

but he doesnt want them under the leaf so it kinda counts them out, home made ones are even better bang for your buck

doubt you could actually get them at a legal ride height though if your car is at a decent height

Absolutely aware of that, more just commenting in general.

Regarding ride height.. you do realise that lowering the car does not lower the diff at all?
