Just installed a brand new custom tailshaft into the coupe. It is running Nissan CA Gearbox.

The oil seal in the box sits 20mm from the end of the yoke. (uni end) Which means a good 100mm of the yoke is past the seal and on the output shaft.

On the last tail shaft I have had made the oil seal is about center on the yoke.

Anyway back to the current tailshaft. Is 20mm going to be enough travel, because I dont want the universal bit on the tail shaft smashing into the back of the box?

Just to clarify that this is with the car sitting on the ground.

Cheers

How much gap is there with the car on body stands, (Under the body) with the rear leaves at full droop? As the suspention compresses, the rear leaves will grow in length making the gap bigger. So long as you have enough clearance with the rear at full droop, it'll never get any closer. Unless you fit lowering blocks. (I had to reshorten my tail shaft when I fitted blocks.
