Decided to start another thread incase ppl wernt reading mine..

If you have a box lying around and a spare 5 mins i need a favour asap!

Im after the lenghth of the bellhousing, from where it bolts to the box and where it bolts to the engine.
Reason being is i think the s3 bluebird ones are different.

If its different i would be also wanting to buy one!

cheers guys
Wardy

Just happen to have one (and a spare)

176 mm at the top (on the slope upwards)
164 mm at the bottom (on the level)

cheers for the reply mate!

I think you may have got confused with what i need though lol.. i need the measurement for the depth of the bellhousing i suppose you could say.

The measurement from the face that bolts to the engine and the face that bolts to the box. it shouldnt be different top to bottom.

Ok no problems, I need to explain myself also - the measurement is actually 162 mm

The old saying a picture is worth a thousand words.

ok mine measures up at 162mm aswel! which is a little worrying.. does anyone know if anything else has to be changed to fit them behind a ca18? the input shaft seems to be too long and is poking into the back of the crank! got me stuffed lol

I haven't seen the crank tail on one of these, but is there any chance there is a spigot bush in there to suit a manual trans and it can be removed so the convertor can now fit inside the now larger hole?

that is the first thing i did actually before even trying to fit the box in. its as though the input shaft is too long or there is supposed to be a spacer somewhere, either between the box and bellhousing or the box and engine!
