thats correct, generally its not a good thing to remove as its a preventative against rust

you'll find that those vents are designed to let air flow out of the cabin, which in-turn lets air to flow into the cabin
from the front through your air vents.

if air cant escape.. it wont come in.

im not sure how much of a problem this would be, i drive my ute with my window at least a litte bit open all the time
anyway.....

I will give you some well learnt advice on choosing a datto ute.... if those vents are gone... ie been welded or bogged its for one reason.... most probably water was coming into the cabin... so I would be looking at the front inner rails under the gaurds, under the dash in each corner and rust around the accelerator pedal where it joins onto the floor...

if there is rust there and it hasnt been repaired... maybe look for another ute if you want an easier project ;)

when you pull a ute down as much as some have on here... you will soon see some major design flaws in that whole vent setup... it is the root cause of a #OOPS# load of rust under that scuttle panel, innerguards and floor pans...
