hey every1 im mitch and have built myself a 1200 sedan... it has an a14 and i had a bit of engine work done and had 86.9hp atw and now im doin a complete engine build...

the list of mods that are currently being done..
-A14 Engine
-twin 45mm webbers re jetted a few sizes
-2.25" 4-2-1 extractors through the same size exhaust with one resonator and one mufler
-shave the head 60 thou
- dual valve springs
-biger valves
- full port and polished head
- mazda flat top pistons
- bored out block 90 thou
- cam approximately 25/75
- electric fuel pump
- high flow/volume oil pump
- copper head gasket
-custom puck clutch running through a 5 speed box
- and a mitsubishi scorpion diff

just wondering if anyone has done something very simialr and the power figures they got out of it??

i have been promised a pretty decent figure but i dont know how true it is..
any help would be appreciated.

should get the engine back in a couple of days as its been at the engine sho for roughly 9 weeks just really wanna know if the power figure tha ive been told is true..

With all that you should have a pretty quick motor! Compression ratio has a lot to do with engine efficiency, looks like you are sorting that out with flat tops.
Cars looks #OOPS# hot, if you ditch the chromies it will accelerate and turn a lot quicker too.

cheers mate comp ratio is something like 10.5 -1 or 11-1 something along those lines...

I don't reckon you'll get much better than the old engine without a decent electronic ignition setup.

The ignition system along with the head design are the most obvious aspects that hold the 'A' back from producing big power.

If you don't have a healthy fat spark you won't get impressive power figures.

Direct ignition with individual coil packs would have this baby buzzing!

I reckon 110hp at the wheels.

When it's all bedded in nicely I reckon you might be near 120hp (bit hard to tell without specifications though...)

What was the figure they gave you?
