Hi Guys,
just wondering what size thermo fan would suit.. I want to remove the stock fan on my a12 as it's hitting my radiator on certain angles (datsun conversion in a morris.. common prob)

would a single 8" davies craig do the business or should I go for slightly larger.. 10" fans won't fit or 2 8" fans?

like this?

Cheers,
Tom

a 10" fan will fit on the stock 1200 rad, this is whats on mine - fine the highest CFM you can get...

I have a morris minor running the engine so clearance with a 10" fan between it and the grille is an issue.. would an 8 inch fan provide sufficient cooling?
Cheers,
Tom

Thats a bit hard to say really.
I would suspect so. I was gonna run 2 x 5" fans on my thou at one stage, and a 8" single fan would probally have more surface area to drag thru the air then the 2 x 5" units i have.
And a 8" fan would be bigger then the std 1200 plastic fan with out a shroud.

from what I recall in another thread you had a pretty large radiator didn't you? That would give you a bit more cooling capacity when moving so I would think that the only thing you need to worry about is when sitting still etc.. However, I have only run 10" on mine so can't say if 8" will be enough sorry..

I might run a single 8" fan off to one side and if i need more cooling I'll throw another 8" fan on the radiator..

Thanks guys!
