"to keep the nice old engine in good shape with today's ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil/fuel mix as a regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of the vintage engines in excellent shape... And it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rust free."

Cut and pasted from you tube comments. Anyone tried this? Peoples thoughts?

As lethal-john says 2stroke in a rotor is common ,and as long as you dont have a catalitic converter exhaust a splash of 2stroke in the fuel is a good thing for a older engine that was designed for leaded fuel.

Sure I put 2 stoke oil in almost every vehicle in the garage..................76 YZ125C, 77 CR125 Elsinore, 84 KT100 Kart, KTM300EXC, 01 YZ125 and Blata pocket bike. Only the coupe and Honda 90 go without.

Ok on a serious note I have heard of people doing this, once new some poeple who about to run out of gas at Lake Mead put in 100-1 premix from the boat dock............the car ran fined but smoked a bit more.

Besides there nothing like the smell of bean oil in the morning.

Yep, have heard of people doing this but only with very minimal amounts of 2T oil, too much just creates smoke and can even affect A/F in excessive amounts.

The only thing better than the smell of a ring-a-ding in the morning is av-gas.. mm mmm
