Im wanting to get a baseline torque and horsepower graph on a stock A12 on my dyno. I`ll check valve clearances, mixtures and ignition while its here.

It must be in a good, tunable condition.

Can anyone help out?

Thanks,
Simon

My coupe is still on its original engine but not using oil. Dead stock. I won't have spare time till next weekend, but any time after that should be ok (I've only just got back online this week since Feb btw!) maybe kill 2 birds with one stone sort of thing?

Hi Jmac,

That would be good. I have Sat and Sun off this weekend if you feel like a drive to Ballarat? Be good to catch up.
Otherwise i`ll try to work in, whenever suits you.

Just send me a PM or give me a call.

By the time an a 10 gets to ballarat the dyno could have got up and walked to Melbourne

Would be good to see a10 and a12 comparison. Is this to guage a measure ment compared to your a12 simon?

Poor A10, im sure it doesnt deserve such badmouthing!!

I suppose its just good to have a referance for any modification. Its not very useful to compare a stock A12 to what ive done, but for any modified A12`s or A14/15`s its is good to show people where their engine is at compared with what it was delivered with from the factory.

I`d actually like to build a frame so i can use the dyno as an engine dyno. Then rebuild a stock A12, then do progressive modifications and report on results for each mod. It would be an interesting exersise and good for the wiki.

I might neeed a lend of different types of induction and extractors etc. but could prove useful info.

Don, Its a long drive, but feel free to try and break the dyno with the big block!

Interesting idea dynoing a stock A12 and then dynoing modifications. It would certainly put realistic figures to some of the crap that seems to float around.
When you find an A12 to dyno I will bring my whippersnipper and we could have a dyno shootout.
Cheers
Bob

It's a long drive to Alice Springs. Ballarat is a light cruise.

Would be interesting to see what the torque
curves would be for both the a10 and a12.
200cc is either alot or not much for this capacity.
