any of you guys own and use a metal detector? id reckon a few of youse down near the vic goldfields pack one.
i dont use a gold specific detector, but more a coin and relic machine. its just amazing what is a few inches below our feet.
also if anyone has any ancient detectors, ie- old garrett or minelab, id consider buying it.

There are a few shops here in Central Vic that have been selling these for years. If you know what brand and model you are after, Icould check a few out for you.

My old man spent a fortune back in the late 70s and
early 80s buying the latest detectors money could get.
My brother and I found a bracelet at a park when playing
in the sand pit in 1976 and was worth over 6k back then
in gold and precious stones. It was just outside a
Greek Orthodox church full of Bling bling Grannies and
Dad never found anything better than we did.
Well except for the cat cigars :)

Metal detecting is my hobby, especially I love beach metal detecting myself! I have recently purchased CS3 MX. As it was a budget machine i did not expect it to be so good, but it is really powerful, and within ten minutes, I had found two coins in very damp sand at about eight inches depth.

budget or high end machine, it dont matter, as long as you know how to read the machine you should be all good.
ive found about half a kilo of silver coins with mine, not to mention the thousands of dollars in cold hard cash ive netted.

still waiting for that gold sovereign........
