There's no reason why not. As long as it is another 71 series box that shares the same 1/2 selector hub style. What is the donor box?

He means what gear box do you have - is it a r30 stumpy? This determines what you can put into it.

Yes I understand that- what is the gear box series that is cast on the side!!!!!!

Is it a 71 series or is it a 63 series?????,

These are the important parts cause do far its pretty generic what your asking.

We are trying to assist, I'm no expert but rev head could be classified as one guru of gear bOxes.

Internals are different between a 71a(stumpy) and 71c(silvia) so you won't be able to just substitute some parts. Not knowing exactly whay you are wanting to swap I couldnt say for sure but I'm pretty sure the syncros and selector rings are different sizes between the boxes

When you are talking dog box, there are usually many custom components. Which is why I ask, what is the donor box. Because there are many different types and most can swapped from model to model by swapping housings. There are differences in the later boxes with selector mechanisms and rod sizes but most of it can be sorted out. The stumpy 3/4 and 5/R rods are unique to the stumpy and must be retained. As long as the splines for the hubs are ok and 3rd dog gear end floats are fine then it should all be fine. If it is a large 1/2 rod then the sandwich plate should also be swapped.

Is the CA box a dog or synchro box? If it is a dog box your best bet would be to contact whoever built the kit for it and ask them. There are sometimes modified selector rod detent grooves to be done also if the throwout length has been changed.
