Hi, so I'v had my eyes set on a Datsun 1200 for awhile now just had some questions on instrumentation.. looking at a few different models I think the round Gauges are much more attractive looking than the older square speedo, could any one give me some information on how much it would cost to change it from the square ones to the round ones?
Also I can get a fiber glass dash to house all of the round gauges for less than 80 bucks so I have that covered. just more the cost of the parts I would need on top of my own blood sweat and tears to do the conversion.

wiring and mounting etc is same, just cost of gauges and facia panel to physically put in there, they are regularily on ebay for around the 80-100, can be more i suppose if the radio section is not cut out for a newer single DIN head unit etc

So each gauge will be 80-100+ how has that got to do with the section for the head deck to be fitted?

He is saying that the original datsun sets sell on ebay for around $80 - $100: have a look on ebay and see what is available. The fascia that you require to suit the round gauges also goes across to the radio and people are less likely to bid on ones that have been cut up to fit a newer head unit therefore they can be cheaper.

If you are planning on running a fibreglass dash and autometer gauges (or similar) then the price will depend on what gauges you decide to buy. Most aftermarket gauges will be similar to connect up and most should be fairly diy.
