Hi Guys,

The dashboard on my Ute has a few cracks on the top but overall its not too bad. I would like to fix up the cracks and paint the dash in black but not really sure how to go about it. Appreciate if someone can give me a few ideas on repairing and painting..mostly need to know what materials i should be using. I am located in Fiji and there are no restorations shops here but i can get most items from Australia within a few days which is pretty handy.

You could try using expanding foam in a can.

Fill the cracks, then shape back with a knife.

As for repairing the vinal wrap, not sure there. Black spray paint will hide the repairs somewhat, but wont look like original unless its re-wrapped.

filling the cracks with expanding foam makes sense as the dashboards are made of foam type material. Sometimes the dash cracks and the crack will start lifting and make a ridge i would sand it down than fill it.

ok thanks guys...i just got an email from my supplier in Japan saying he can supply a new dash pad so i think i'll go with that.
