Hi everyone

Recently my Coupe racing car was virtually killed at last Round at Symmons Plains due to some pathetic driving on the part of others.

Anyhow, I am looking for a Datsun 1200 coupe shell that I can cut the front right hand corner off & weld onto mine to replace the twisted metal thats left.

As I am just after the front right, I am not concerned about the condition of the rest of the car - just the front right corner.

If anyone can help or knows where a shell might be please contact me by way of reply to this post or directly on 0419 537 351.

Kind regards

Matthew

If its the front right quarter shouldn't matter if it's a coupe, sedan or ute as they are all the same at the front. Ivan1 from Bendigo might be able to help if he's still got a sedan spare.

I've got a coupe shell (it was originally DatsAndys - he bought it with a rolled rally car, the seller had gotten the shell, but lost interest in transferring all the gear across to the new shell..

Anyhoo - if it's just the shell you need (minus doors and suspension etc) I'd be willing to sell it pretty cheap. I would mention that the shell is in pretty decent condition, and (not having seen the extent of the damage on your current coupe) would at least 'put the idea out there' that it'd be good enough condition to consider using the whole shell and transferring all across to it. I realise that might be a bit of work, if it's got a rollcage (to name just one thing) But it probably would end up being less work than cutting/welding a whole corner of the shell onto the crashed car. Probably be (albeit to a very small degree) a little more rigid if it was an intact shell, not one with a corner welded in.

If you also wanted front guards or doors, I do have them, guards in good condition - they were on the replacement shell, but doors not so much (they aren't complete write-offs but they are off the rolled car, the replacement shell had no doors, and before that incident had been stripped down so the window mechanisms etc aren't complete.

anyhoo - if the options people above me in this thread have offered don't pan out (and not before then, as I don't want to cut anyone's lunch) send me a pm and take it from there.

I'm in Melbourne, just north of the Essendon Airport, and the shell can be checked out in person weekends (except the christmas weekend coming up). Weeknights isn't really possible, I'm doing long hours each day at work.
