Got my hands on another turbo for a possible temp project
its from a CA18DET with low kms no shaft play at all

T25 specs: TB2523
UC 0109J
1441136F12
465767-6
IN A/R .48
EX A/R .49

What do you guys think? good size?
Thinking a home made J pipe exxy w/ 2" SU suck through.

The disco potato which I have would suit the bigger A
series I have in mind is just too big for this build.

Edit: been recommended the vf42 though

yes, I've used a T25 on an standard A12 with a CD Stromberg in front of it. It made make enough boost at 60kph in 4th to go hold gear up the steepest hill around. Was a good driveable combo that still made very respectable power at only 8psi. Went about as well as my 116rwbhp L18 at the time.

I wouldn't be shy about using the ball bearing disco potato on an A15 either.

umm sounds like it boosted early with plenty of torque.

Spud ball bearings exhaust is .63 vs t25 journal bearing .49

Tough choice! wouldnt t25 jb suit suck-thru better due to carbon seal?

I have always thought a T25G from the early SR20DET Silvias would be perfect on an A15.

yes, if you carbon sealed it. I wouldn't bother doing that until the seal gave up.

How was the draw through set up in terms of drivability and temperment ? Did you run water injection ? Cheers

problem with those turbo's is they're no good for 15+ pound of boost, if you don't want to run any more than that it'll be good and you might find if its an early t25 it will already have carbon seals

i've been looking at kinugawa turbos, they seem to be getting a good rap on the silvia forums and are pretty damn cheap. there a journal bearing which im not real fond of but something to suit the a12 is around 600 delivered give or take 50 bucks

I ran on on my old setup, made boost earlie, but never had it tuned 100% but I think it needed water/meth for better performance, the us$ is good for buying the meth setup! I think anything bigger that a STD t25 on a series is to big

I got given (free ) a rebuilt mitsubishi TDO4 off of a 4G93T (1800DHOC turbo) mitsi GSR lancer. Basically the 1800cc version of an Evo 1. From everything I've been told, it's a better turbo than the T25. A mate told me a good mate of his was pushing close to 18psi through one. Me thinks that'll be perfect on my A14et oneday project.

I ran a TD04 on a std A12 with A14 head and suck through stromberg from an old triumph and made 90+kw at the wheels, only drove it at the track but throttle control was good and went like a rocket...
