What is your goal? To fit a newer distributor into an older A12?

Is your distributor 1974-up or your engine 1974-up?

I couldnt' find an article on that.

Here are the two types of fixing plates.

Right:newer engine/newer distributor

Left:older engine/older distributor

I would guess, that you need the plate to match the engine. Newer Engine == Newer Plate. And modify the plate to fit the distributor. At least that's how all swaps I've done have worked.

Be aware that the one on the right won't fit the older distributor. Well it'll bolt on but will foul on the engine block.

If you are going to make one, make it custom. Use the same size bore hole, same thickness of plate, and measure the location of the screw holes. You might also have to rotate the distributor to make it possible to get the holes in the right place. Try test-fitting it without the plate and see what needs to be done.

hope it goes well.
