Into an old 170JD skid steer I'm putting a Nissan motor, and I need help. Pictures soon to follow, if needed. The beast in question is out of a 1 of 79 Dautsun 210 (US). It has "A 14" stamped above the fuel pump boss. I need to know what I have(the car it came from is long crushed), and what I dont need for vaccume and eletrics. I did have it running and vibrating accross the shop floor, the oil pan didnt leak till I tried cleaning it, darn it, 15 welds later it dosen't leak. So, what do you folks need for info to give me a good start? Also, were there any trucks made with this engine that had a govener? Thanks for at least reading!

What you have is a Nissan A14 engine. It's either 65HP @ 5600 RPM or 80HP @ 6000 RPM.

There were no trucks with that engine, but many industrial Nissan engines with governors. Try a forklift supply company.

Thanks for the quick respose!
The air pump was siezed, and I didnt get much wiring with it. I was wondering what I do and dont need for both the vaccume and wiring.

It's a gasoline engine, so it requires zero vacuum lines. Although I'd recommend fitting a line from the lowest carb port to the distributor.

For electrical it only needs:
* 12V IGN to the carburetor anti-diesel valve
* 12V IGN to the electric choke

We fitted one to a big gas forklift to replace a flathead. It worked better than the old V8.

Now it is getting an A15! $200, I couldn't pass it up. Is there any problem you can see if I block off the heater lines? I finally got the A14s carburetor working proper, Could I use it on the A15? Most of the vacuum lines will be removed, So I'm guessing the intake vacuum will be increased and should poop out a bit more fuel. Or am I an idiot again? Thanks guys! I would like to try the A15 carb first, but would like to have a back up plan. Also the A15 has a micro switch on the throttle with a wire to the anti diesel valve thingie, and that has two wires out of it. Do I need to run a positive into the switch, a ground, or nix the switch? What do I do with the second wire on the anti diesel valve thingie? Thanks again!
