How do you test a datsun 1200 coupe tacho? |

Hi,
I recently purchased a datsun 1200 coupe tacho for my 1985 model 1200 ute and was just wondering if use can tell me how to test my tacho to see if it works..

check out the tech wiki to discover how it is wired up. its a closed loop so you need to run a wire from whichever side of the distributor , through the tacho then back to the distributor. be careful there arent a lot of heavy power wires nearby as it can cause interference.
