Hi All, I finally got my A12 started and the Dato is back on road, washed the fuel tank, rebuilt the carby, and put a resistor to the 12v Coil, and Got a new Electric Fuel Pump, The Car is running fine so far, but bogs down on WOT in 3 and 4th gear, no problems in first and 2nd, when you suddenly hit the throttle the engine bogs for like a sec (on Idle)...

This symptom can have many causes.

Check your fuel pressure. It should be below 3 psi. If it is not, try the old mechanical pump, which are excellent high flow units.

Check the fuel flow. It should be more than 1/2 liter in 60 seconds.

HOw do i check the fuel pressure?? i had to put a return line because of the pump pressure, the carby would overflow without the return, could it be the float level??, and i forgot the exhaust is leaking from the manifold and pipe joint due to one of the struts slipping, no low end torque

Fuel pressure is most likely the problem. Carburetors like around 3 psi. Even weber carburetors, or datsun carburetors.

Check your fuel pump pressure rating on the label or instructions. You check the pressure by using a pressure gauge. Often this is built into a mechanic's vacuum gauge.

Or just use the stock fuel pump, which is good for double the horsepower of a stock A12.

The exhaust leak should not cause a power or driveability problem.

Quote:
no low end torque
First correct the fuel pressure issue. Then see how it works.
