Hi guys,
How hard is it to change the front main seal on an A15, I have a minor leak? Are there any problems I might encounter?

Greg

There are many problem that can occur. But it is fairly easy.

Lower the pan, remove the timing cover. Drive the new seal in.

Do you have to take the timing cover off?
Correct me if I'm wrong but can't you just take the balancer off and removed the seal???
I've never done one on a Datto but presume it would be the same unless they're totally different design?
It would be easier to replace the seal with the timing cover off but a lot more work involved to get it off in the first place.

You probably could. Screw a large sheet-metal screw in the old seal and pull it out.

(after removing the pulley and the key)

Then grease up the inside of the new seal and carefully drive it on.

Never done it that way...
