I would start with the ignition barrel itself check thats working and its got power and earth. If its got nothing check its connected down the loom under dash. Could also be that the earth or positive from batt isnt attached at block or starter or whateva ur lookin at. I cant remember but surly they have a ignition fuse or main fuse somewhere check that. Think simple first before u pull out ur hair.

Quote: only problem is, i turn the key for the first start, and nothing, no dash or anything This is more than one cause for this problem. But the most common cause is solved by Battery Maintenance -- even if it is a new battery! Give it a try.

I am in the process of partially rewiring a project from another manufacturer (so won't be mentioned on this forum) and have found most of my dramas being to faulty earths either through lack of sufficient bare-metal contact with terminals or simply because I un-did one and didn't re-attach it.
If your stumped then use a multi-meter (M-M) and trace power from the battery to ignition, starter motor as mentioned and fuse box. Then maybe check Earths for broken wires within the sleeves. A decent M-M will be able to send a signal through the wire. Sorry if this is obvious stuff...
Good luck.

Fusible link maybe, or starter trigger wire. That doesn't explain lights though. That Sounds like main power feed maybe

are there fuses in the fuse box, are the wires to the ignition barrel connected?
pretty much as most other people have said, get a multimeter or test light and find where power is, then you should be able to find out where it isnt and should be
