The thing I love best about you guys is that if it doesn't bolt right in, you make it fit! I was just reading the posts about the Sunny struts and it does my heart proud to see that there are other nutjobs out there like me who don't equate power mods with catalog shopping. Let's all keep dirt under our nails and welding sparks flying.

yeah, i cant afford to buy the brand new super dooper stuff either. lol
its good fun working on the old cars and if ya stuff up it doesnt cost much to replace stuff, im always so happy when i find a way to improve my car at little cost. i spend hours chasing down parts and fitting them to my car but once im done i love the feeling of having built the car myself. problem is i always put the barstard off the road a week later to improve something else and have to catch the train to uni for the next week.

As I said in the post about Herman, the Monster Truck, the "it-doesn't-fit-so-I'll-make-it" attitude has turned ugly for the Chickenhawk. Nothing terminal, just annoying. Tensandtwenties has been hounding me for some time to put on a bigger master cylinder. Well, to make a short story long, the upgrade to the 200SuX rear axle with disc brakes has made it necessary. Grrrrrr. I'm quite annoyed. Well, at least I still have Gil to drive. Oh course now that I've said something about it, the gods will strike that car down. Have a day.

It is true, datsun people are cool :)

I met this dude on my way to the bay tonight (only place to go in adelaide). He was yelling at me, but i couldnt hear him over the stereo, haha.

While cruising down the highway, we chatted, and turns out he is a datto man himself, and offered to give me his datto. It's a 1200 sedan, with a whole bunch of reconditioned stuff, and a brand new recored radiator, which i need! Datto people rule.

Oh, and on the topic of "if it doesnt fit so i'll make it fit".....try flipping the springs one day, and trying to install 185 R14 65profile all round the next day. There was no way these rims were gonna leave my car, so i got the datsun owners best friend out...the angle grinder.....
few mods, few sparks, no worries....looks like normal, cept there isnt smoke coming from the tires when i drive now

cheers dudes,

-Jesse

i dunno what it is man, maybe it's my ruggedly handsome looks that make people give me free stuff?

I got moe (named after mohammed, the dude i bought it off, thanks for the influence dimlight, now i am naming my dattos too!) back home yesterday, and had a look over it.
Other than the rust in the doors, and some on the roof, and a dented front quarter panel, it's perfectly straight. Rear quarters are fine, no rust in the boot or floor either, oh yeh, the bonnet is rooted though.

the head on this thing, is brand new, hasnt even been run yet. valves have been reseated and stuff, new springs, and where it leaked water the first time, has been welded up. Sweeeet. too bad its a round port head.

Oh yeh, and brand new front brakes (drums), bigs ones too...

sent you a personal message bout cruisin dude, so lemme know.

-Jesse
