So much to do at home. My car waits.
Today I worked on my front porch.

The car trailer makes a great hauler for rock.
You can see the old deck out in front of the construction of the new deck. The boys and I just lifted it up like a large pallet. It was uneven and looked like crap. The new deck will be a lot larger. The big rocks are for the fire pit that Im building out front on the lake side.
Also a photo of the house last year when I bought it. A lot has changed.

Photo of my Mustang just sitting there. Hasnt be driven on the streets since early last year. This one I restored from the ground up. Runs strong with a 347 Stroker. Always wanted one in highschool. It was pouring rain so you can see the spots on the photo. The Super Bee is funner to drive.

I have tons of other projects as well. So my car will wait. I think next month will be the time to start on it. The rainy season is here in the Great Northwest.

Post your projects!
This is my Shop. A lot smaller than what I left at my old house but it works.
There is always a before and after photo for everything. Wood shed and tree gone.

Before and after.
This is my guest house. I cut down a crap load of trees and let some light in. New roof and skylight, new paint, smoke stack gone. Im currently remodeling the inside. Yes, another project.
Its small but cozy and has a great view of the lake. I need visitors.

Always wanted to ask the following. I see in USA it is very common. How is it to live in a wood house? Here in south africa it is not heard of. We build all houses with bricks and cement. WHat I hate about it is that if your soil isn't right, they tend to crack at certain spots of the walls.
Is it not cold in a wood house? Sound proof?

Wood house is nice. We put insulation in the walls, so it's nice and comfortable. 6" wide cavity in the wall stuffed with high performance insulation. Sound proof too. Does better in earthquake than brick.

Here in Oregon/Washington (where both datsa73 and I live) there are very large trees so the price of lumber is low relative to brick. And not much termite problem. Termites are a bigger problem in sub-tropical parts of USA.

Brick house is preferred by many americans but they cost more (depending on which part of america price of bricks varies) + more labor intensive. 2 workers can frame a wood house in one day.

I like the look of a wood house too.

Wood is better. That's for sure.
