“My Project has gone in another direction”

Example;

“Engine and car for sale as separate items because my project has gone in another direction”.

A popular term amongst Australian car enthusiasts (especially ebay ads!) and I find it to be one of the most vague and funny statements of the motor-world!
Does it mean?;

A) I’ve only just moved out of home at the tender age of 27 and no longer have the disposable income of a prince.

B) I lost it (the project). It accidentally rolled out of the garage and down the road.

C) I have come out of the closet/ I have jumped the fence.

D) I am a lazy bastard and I CBF finishing it.

E) I am broke and I have no idea what I was doing anyway.

F) My wife wears the pants and she stays but the car goes.

What else do you reckon it could also mean?

After a year of unsuccesfully trying to sell my car & engine as a complete runner for the same amount that I spent on it (plus a bit more to see if I could), I decided to pull the motor out and try and get at least what that owes me. I wish someone told me ages ago that you never get back what you spend on a car!!

I reckon it could also mean the following...

"Either the car &/or engine has a major problem & I'm not disclosing what it is."

Or

"Forgot to account for all the ancillary items needed to put monster engine in car so reverting back to stock engine to get car drivable."

Haha.

For me it is more related to parts....

H. I impulse bought this item and another that does the same thing, dont need either of them but need money for parts that actually make the car run....

I brought the car, then realized how much it would actually cost to rebuild...

Yeah I'm sure 75% of people dont know what their in for, when they start a project or get a brain fart !! As a kid, I've even had cars when you pull up at a servo and use to say "fill her up with oil mate and check the petrol". Yes ddgonzal: I was one of those kids that had their car towed for $50 by their parents, but their lesson backfired when I told them 3 yrs of my wages went in it and they were gracious enough to replace it with a Mint HK 327 Bathurt Monaro which I sold a few years later and bought my 1st apartment cash with. Maybe I still havent learnt.. I have 3 datto's and probably 30k worth of parts and none on the road. But at the end of the day people's, I would prefer my kid fumbling with a car, than out their getting pissed, fighting or on drugs.
