Hi guys

I have a problem with my b310 , it starts once idles nicely but there is a "bug" sound when higher rpm , what would be the reason is it contact point or carburetor , it doesn't response to sudden acceleration , it takes little time sometime a miss and can be accelerated to higher afterwords

i dont know whether there is meaning for bug but for me it hears "Bug" or "Bog" sounds
any ideas on what to check

thanks
regards
sumith

What a Coincidence I had the same problem today with my b110.I took off my caburettor and replace the center with a fairly new one i had and put it back up and evey thing worked fine after that.so your problem is some where in the acelleration circuit.so you could take it off and give it a clean.

So it sounds like "buh-buh-buh-buh"? That could be a ultra-rich condition (bogging down). If the accelerator pump was not working it would make no sound, just loses power for a sec, then a lurch as it gets better (sometimes accompanied by a pop).

accelerator pump ... i noticed the rubber washer at the end was having tiny crack on it

That does not cause a problem.

So this is not happening any more?

If it is dry dull black, that indicates unburned fuel (ultra-rich condition). If it is wet oily black it means engine is burning oil.

Question for you: With engine idling, is the fuel level on the dot of the site-glass?

Hi DD

I found that the rubber washer was completely broken ,any way since i had repair kit installed new set.and car is running very smooth and idles well nicely no "Buh" sound any more but ,Once the Gear is changed and accelerate after a complete stop or slow speed suddenly engine rpm goes down and try to stall the engine, but if i accelerate more gently it is again to normal while going cruising speed no problem.Pickup is also good .
Checked the float level while engine is running it is perfectly on the middle of the side glass.
Removed the spark plugs and checked they were dry and black as follows.
i am running crazy Main Jet on this car
It was having 75 and 105 earlier, but car was running well and was excellent is pickup and also fuel consumption with the new repair kit i could install 140 secondary and primary was not properly tighten on my carb body but the old jet(75) was nicely fitting so now it is running 75 and 140 as main jets now.

i am going crazy now on this.please help me guys

Isn't the answer obvious? If 75/105 was running well, and now 75/140 is not running well -- put the original ones back in.

Or am I misunderstanding what you meant to say?

Yes, that is what I would do.

Is this the rubber washer you are referring to? It is named "accelerator pump Boot".
