My engine is making a squeak squeak squeak with engine rpm, more rpm, more squeak! I didnt change anything on it, and i pulled plugs one at a time to see if that would do anything. Cant work it out, sounds like its coming from the middle of the head. Help!!!!!!!!

well im no mechanic but u either need:

1. a new car
2. if u love it a new engine
or 3. new belts ( ie timing etc)

thats what it was when it happened to me but i could be wrong

Take off the rocker covre and check your rocker gear - sounds like it's a bit dry/worn.

sure its not that bloody fan simmo?

if it's not that, i dont know how you can hear anything else over it anyway!

oh yeh, try greasing up the disrtubtor shaft cams, the ones that open the points.

Could be water pump, alternator or belt. Take the belt off and see if the squeak disappears. Barry

Could it be a mouse? feed it some cheese. He could be hungry....I agree with Barry, I reckon it's a dry as buggery water pump bush. If you don't run coolant, the bearing/housing gets involved in some nasty galvanic corrosion. You'll probably need to replace it, but some WD40 will give you an idea of whether thats the cause. I've seen waterpumps completely siezed with the white Aluminium Oxide crap (It's normally also got a red IronOxide colour to it also, courtesy of the engine block)

oh yeh, i forgot about those bloody mice. They are a common problem with 1200's....

make sure it's english cheddar though...coz any other cheese wont stop them squeaking....they are fussy little buggers....

maybe putting a turbo on will stop it squeakin 'ey simon?
