I have recently put a 1200 ute diff in my coupe.
What shocks are people using for this conversion?
I can't use the standard 1200 coupe shocks anymore.
The diameter on the mounting plate for the diff is different between the ute and the coupe.

thanks
Bruce

I would like to know the deal on how to do this ute diff conversion. Do you have to move the spring plates on the diff so that they line up with the coupe springs?

Also, from what you have said Bruce the shocks dont line up any more??

Cheers

the ute diff bolts straight into the coupe springs. you need to change the driveshaft end to the bigger ute one. you have to use the ute u-bolts and bottom plates and what I did to mount the shocks was cut the old mount off and weld on some bolts the same dia. as the coupe shock eyes

simplest thing i did when putting a ute diff into my coupe was to get the rubbers in the bottom of the shock pressed out & new ones with the correct diameter hole pressed in,i assume this is basically what the problem is.pedders penrith did this for me for the price of the new bushes,i suppose you'd call them.no welding for me,i'm dangerous with a gas axe in hand & don't even think about handing me a grinder,a disaster of monumental proportions in the making, but i can bolt things in pretty handily.
