Considering the amount of work to convert an ICE vehicle is about 8-12000aud this is a great price. A great commuter vehicle for to and from work no oil changes, filter, gaskets or anything mechanical apart from brakes and tyres.

Just wondering if it takes off better from 2nd or 3rd gears?
Could it manage been changed to direct drive using a hilux diff ratio?
eg. 5.286, 5.60, 5.714, 5.833, 6.167, 6.667, 6.78, 6.833, 7.64

Hi D,

I drive it exactly like a petrol 1200. take off in first and go through the gears like normal. maximum torque (150NM) is from 0-4000RPM approximately.

The benefit of using the gears is that you can accelerate using less current. since losses are proportional to current squared, halving current usage on take off, reduces current losses by 4 times.

it can take off in 4th but not as quick as 1-2-3-4.

cheers
Brett

Funny story.... I recently was called out to assist with a fire at lawn hill NP and got chatting to a bloke named Peter about his sons datto (electric) and supra. I don't suppose thats your old man? anyway it looks great in the photo's and would love to buy it if i didn't have so many cars already.
