Genuine Nissan valances (front apron panel) have two part numbers: Sedan/van/ute & coupe. The difference is in the tabs for mounting the grille.

But later Nissan started producing valance with tabs for both types of grille.

Some have reported that the 1973 north american valance panels have larger openings (to fit the larger bumper stays). So perhaps the aftermarket used that pattern so it will fit all 1200s worldwide?
